    Rev. Vincent W. Morgan

While a student at Biola, first in the original downtown Los Angeles campus and then on the new campus in La Mirada, I received valuable skills that have effectively helped me teach God’s Word to people in many parts of the world. Biola is also where I met my wife, Maryam. Who has been a great help in ministry – especially in the area of finances and encouragement when needed most.

In the Bible department, teachers like Dr. Richard Mc Neeley and Dr. Kurtanik helped me understand God’s Word. Mr. Ebeling gave me the ability to understand doctrine. Miss Sylvia Gilman taught me how to write English and communicate effectively. Mr. Stan Leonard taught me how to teach the Bible to others.

For most of my college life I was the leader of the Jewish and Israel prayer band. For Christian service, which taught me practical skills for ministry, I worked with the Jewish Department of the Church of the Open Door in downtown Los Angeles and later with the American Board of Mission to the Jews. Finally, in my last year at Biola I served as a youth pastor in a small church in Westminster, California. Following wife’s (Maryam Coleman) graduation from Biola one year after mine, we moved to New York where we opened a new ministry to the Jews under the Christian and Missionary Alliance. We later switched mission agencies to work with the Conservative Baptists. There we continued in Jewish work for many years and then switched to work among the many refugees and immigrants from the former Soviet Union. The Lord used me to plant two Russian-speaking churches in NY City. I also served on the board of directors for Messianic Hebrew Christian Fellowship in Pennsylvania, overseeing their 4 ministries in Israel. This allowed me to travel to Israel annually to check up on the work there and minister to local pastors and believers. It has been a great joy serving the Lord in both New York City and the Land of the Bible.

I praise the Lord for Biola, for the spiritual atmosphere, the skills that I learned, the mentoring of professors and the encouragement to enter full-time ministry.
